No Excuse was the star of the weekend at Belton, comfortably winning his CIC2* section. Lying in second place after the dressage, a good double clear moved him up to the top of the table – the first win of his career.
Pencos Crown Jewel also produced a double clear in a very hot intermediate section. A 25.9 dressage score and 0.8 of a time penalty was only good enough for third place.
Las Vegas 200 and Zenshera were both running in the Grantham Cup CIC3*. Las Vegas also jumped a double clear, but Ros kept her foot off the accelerator, whilst Zenshera had a rail down in the show jumping.
Finally, Spring Ambition was very well placed in her intermediate section, but with the end of the cross country course in sight and all of the significant challenges behind her, she put in an unexpected and uncharacteristic stop and dropped down the leaderboard.
