Lordships Graffalo again showed that he is on the way to filling Allstar B’s shoes alongside Bicton 5* debutant Pencos Crown Jewel, taking the runner up spot in the CCI4*-L at Blenheim.
Third after dressage and clear inside the time across country, he added just 0.4 of a time penalty to his score to finish less than two points behind the winners.
“I’m very proud of him – he gets better and better with every run,” said Ros afterwards. “I’m also delighted for Yasmin – she’s become quite a good friend of mine. We’ve travelled to Pau twice together with our mothers, just having a really nice ‘family’ time. She deserves every inch of this – she’s a fantastic girl, so good on her.”
Ros finished 13th – out of 90 starters – on Rehy Royal Diamond, who also jumped a double clear but with 5.6 cross country time penalties.
In the 8/9 Year Old Championship, Izilot DHI led the dressage on a score of 26.6 and show jumped clear, but an unfortunate glance off at the third element of a combination right at the top of the course saw Ros’ chance of victory disappear. The pair continued on with no further problems to complete.
